1/4" valves

Going through my box of steam stuff i found a manifold with 1/4" valves. What could i use these small valves for on a 50sqft water tube boiler?

Would they be sufficient for a stack blower? Injector? Ejector? Whistle?

I guess it depends on what sort of valves. Globe, gate, 1/4 turn. That s big enough opening for all sorts of applications. Even maybe on a water column to test for water level.

Probably not enough flow for a whistle (depends on the size of whistle) and likely not big enough for an injector. Certainly big enough for a stack blower or a burner atomizer. Just right to feed a Windermere kettle. Maybe large enough for a steam lance to clean out your boiler. Would feed a steam feedwater pump probably. The manifold might be useful as well. Feed the manifold through one isolation valve and then everything else from there. Oh yeah. I saw a small valve like that being used one the return line of a whistle warmer.

A whistle warmer is a small line that taps into the pipe just before the whistle valve and from there goes down to a valve closer to hand and from there to the hot well. No wasted water. Some wasted steam. Reduces the hot water shower and gargling when the whistle is sounded after not being used for a while.

If manifold feed is 1/2" could I also pull a 1/2" or 3/8" off the manifold and 2 or 3 1/4" valves?

Sounds doable. Depends on how big the passage is in the manifold.
