No worries, if i were unaware of the offer I would also appreciate being notified somehow.
And there was a bidder before already, so who knows what number he will offer in the last minute.

Now if it were a 6A you could have had a battle on. 8-)

Prices of 6A should now plummet as I have heard on the grapevine that they are going to start making the 6A castings again. :)

On the other hand, it may be that they've spotted the prices and decided to make a corresponding price hike.

Won the Bid at 921 british pounds, believe it is a failry good price based on pictures, hope now that shipping etc goes well and that the engine is as good as it seems on pictures, then I should be a first time owner of a Steam Engine.

even thought I wont start buildign a boat anytime soon, I just cant wait to just have it standing on my desk :P

Well done Quinten! At least you now will have something to look at when you dream of your boat.

true, just have to control myself not to continue for now.

my wife and I live in a apt on the 4th floor, and i already measured the doors and staircase to see how big of a dingy fits through the door hahahahahaha, and since its a classical austrian building it means that 12-14foot dingy fits through all the doors. and having a big free bedroom available is pretty tempting.
but id rather wait for a few years till we move into a house where i have a garage, I highly doubt my neighbours in the building will be pleased if a 23 year old carries up an old dingy to restore on the 4th floor, even though a few weeks ago i was really close to buying one, but luckily my wife brought me to my senses.

For those that might still be looking, or just interested, there is another ST 5A for sale at Preston Services, unfortunately he is being cagey on the price (P.O.A.).

Mike

If you are talking about the green one with lubricator, reverse linkage, and boiler feed pump

I tried to buy that one a while ago (3-4 weeks)and the price was 1400 pounds, plus shipping (to austria) it would have ended up at 1531 but he offered me 1500. Which I did not want to pay at the time. I offered 1300 pounds inclusive shipping but never got a response after that, could be because my emails sometimes dont go through. The man himself was friendly though.

Thanks for adding that Quinten. I have heard that the gentleman is rather fixed in his idea of prices, though I have no personal experience.
