Like Paul, I have my make up water tank below the boiler,then on top of that is a sheet of concrete board that is often used under wood stove installations in homes,then of course,being a wooden boat there is always bilge water sloshing around! Den

THe only pan that I have been able to source quickly is a little smaller than I would like. It is 18 by 25, I would prefer a 24 by 36. Should I put some sort of reflective insulation underneath the pan ? If so, what should I use.
Most of the off the shelve pans are 25" wide and I only have 24 inches to work with...............
