New member and new steamboat

Post by Midship »

Hello

A small message from France, Versailles, to introduce myself and my steamboat.

I am a member of the Abv (French steamboat association) and the Sba, since many years now.

I have bought my bare hull on Ebay uk, 6 years ago, she was in bad condition, and have need a big work to steam.

Midship has been launched last summer on the river Rance, in Britanny near St Malo

The engine is a Stuart 6A realised by Geoff Vazey, the boiler is a Blackstaff that my friend Phillippe and I, have realised ourselves.

If you are interested in the detailed story, you will find it here: http://www.midship22.blogspot.com sorry, I haven't translated it in english yet

Also the blog of the Abv [http://chaloupesvapeur.blogspot.com/

and the one describing many of our steamboats http://www.chantiers.blogspot.com/

Kind regards

Many thanks :)

there is no identification on the hull, she was probably built around 1950 and was fitted previously with a petrol Stuart Engine.

You are all welcome to steam onboard if you visit France, she is staying near Paris in the winter and near St Malo in summer

Well done!

The boat and all the work you have done is superb. Thanks also for the Traducteur. I was doing quite well without it, but got lazy once I saw it.

Regards

Pete
