lamont monotubes
I would like to contact anyone who has experience with lamont boilers, especially low pressure ones. I have many questions I would like to bounce around. Lamont-using steam car inthusiasts advise that the outside steam/water drum hold the same amount of water as does the firebox generator tubes within the boiler. I am wondering, though, weather that much reserve capacity is necessary in a marine situation where the firing rate is usually steady.

On a boat, when you run out of fuel or your burner clogs up, you are usually in the worst possible situation and miles away from anthing like AAA. Having a bit of reserve to get you to the shore (or bank on a river) can save your life, literally. I say the more the better.
