Howdy all from East Tennessee

Post by mtnman »

Howdy all, I’ve been lurking a couple of weeks and soaking up the knowledge found here (which is considerable). I’ve been hankering for a steam launch for a bunch of years and last month I started my descent into steamboats. I drove over to Hampton VA and came home with my new to me launch.
I’ve been collecting hit and miss engines for almost 40 years and once I owned a ½ scale Case steam traction engine although I never steamed it in public. I live in Tennessee and the steam laws here are TOUGH to say the least. I also have a stable of 7 motorcycles, mostly antiques. Check the "Members websites and boats" for the rest of the story and a few pictures!

Good to see another steamboater, plus a MC nut also!
A couple of years ago I bought my 50th Motorcycle, but have turned mostly to steam stuff (and keeping our 1692 house in reasonable repair) in my old age.

Welcome to the forum. Nice boat! I'm another with an old bike (1923 Rudge 1000cc V twin). Its engine is in bits right now - one of the many distractions from steam boating. John
