New member from Sweden

I´m Lennart Elg, living near Stockholm, Sweden. I joined this forum to learn more about the technical aspects of old steamboats. My main interest is railroad history, but of course early railroads were both complements and competitors to steamboat traffic. The first railroads filled in gaps in canal networks, and later competed with them. Indeed, a famous Swedish civil engineer won his fame by building the longest Canal in Sweden, but later crowned his career by becoming president of the Swedish State Railways..
