With all the worry about weed, lines and bags etc fouling the prop, how have people found the line cutters like the Spurs etc
Seems like they might help.

Re: kitchen rudder
There was an article in Woodenboat magazine (Issue #185 July/Aug 2005) about making a kitchen rudder. It was on a dory with an old one lunger from memory.
Reprints would be available. There was some construction information and quite good pictures.
Be an interesting project.

Re: Ducted propellers?
The duct does not turn on the prop. There is ~ 1 cm clearance between the prop tips and the nozzle. The nozzle has an airfoil cross-section and essentially provides lift. The rudder is transom - hung and is a form of "fishtail" (like a Schilling rudder but less extreme) The endplates impro...

Re: Ducted propellers?
Here is my ducted propeller. Note the "fishtail" rudder with endplate. This is needed to get the most out of the nozzle.

Re: Type of Wood for Hull
Steve, Don't let the purists put you off. I have built a strip planked hull (Golden Bay) on Selway Fisher's web page. Strip planking is an excellent way of building a beautiful looking durable round bilged hull without needing to take too much time out from your day job to get the requisite skills. ...

Re: CLUTCH
My boat is hybrid (An electric motor is hidden in the seat) I therefore need a clutch. Modes of operation are Steam, Electric and Steam charging batteries.

Re: Creative Frolic 21 Launch Questions
Mike, I have built a stripplanked hull of the size you are talking about (It is "Golden Bay" on the Selway-Fisher site - http://www.selway-fisher.com/Steam2030.htm#BAY ) It has been a single-handed endeavour in a busy life but is quite doable. The stripplanking is easy if rather tedious. I...
