San Diego Steam Launch

Hello,

I just went back to work; my ship is tied up at Point Loma, San Diego until January. I was on deck yesterday and saw a steam launch going into the yacht club harbor. It was perhaps 25-30' long with a white hull and a nice high canopy. It looks like there are a few forum members in San Diego, does anyone know who this might have been? I am in the early stages of building my boat and would love to talk to the owner.

Thanks,
Harry

Harry,
That was most likely Chuck Darragh on Amity. He's out several times a month and always cruises by the Museum and the San Salvador building site.
Are you on the Revelle by any chance? I'll be taking HMS Surprise out Saturday and Sunday and Chuck may well be out to escort us down the channel.
Stop by the Museum and I'll get you into Medea's engine room.
Cheers,
Chris

Hello,

Why yes, I actually am on the Revelle. I was planning on going to the Museum sometime, once I figure out where it is. When would be a good time to get that tour? I have a rare opportunity for overtime on Sunday but next weekend is wide open. Perhaps PM me and we'll exchange contact into.

Thanks!

Chris, that has to qualify as the understatement of the year. It caused my heart to skip a beat. Let us know how many prizes you take! :D

Steve,
Yeah, it's just one of those things I have to do to make a living. :D

That's the Surprise? I saw it coming back in Sunday afternoon. Beautiful ship.

That's righteous.
