All,

I have included multiple unions in my feedwater loop for my boiler. I figured it would make it easier for me to correct things etc. Do I use pipe dope on the threads of the unions ? I am using it everywhere else, but was not sure on this point.

thanks

jon

P.S. - If anyone knows of a contest for the ugliest soldering job please let me know......I am sure to be a contender..........silver solder is taking some getting used to...........not the same as sweating pipes.........

Use Neverseeze or a similar product. when using pipedope or other sealants I find they won't leak AND they won't come apart-ever!! Den

The only drawback to Neverseeze and similar products is that they get on your fingers and get tracked around. The up side is that they clean up with paint thinner. I use them in place of pipe dope on threaded connections with no failures so far. Just messy, that's all.
