Anderson piston pump

Den sent me some pictures of his pump and it set off a flurry of Google activity here. Some enlightenment but not enough.

Does anyone else have one of these or know much about them? I'm considering driving one from an eccentric with not much more than an inch of travel. Maybe 1 1/4". Can I just increase the bore and shorten the port height to get the same swept volume?

How important are the various clearances such as piston to to heads and sleeve to pump body at the end of the sleeve?

Given the short stroke, are there other condensate pump designs to recommend? I'm staying with reciprocating pumps for now.

Mike,

For sake of comparison. The piston pump I used last year and is now the back up is only .75 stroke X .75" bore. It was only ran about half the time and was more than capable of keeping up. 3+3X4 engine and ran at an average of 50psi. Around 300 RPM.

Ron,
Was that your feed water pump or your vacuum pump?
