Hello fellow steam engineers! :D
I am building a scale model of a Jules Verne style helical screw-drive snowmobile/amphibious vehicle with two Stuart Twin Launch steam engines and vertical boiler.
I am a pipe-fitter and have installed full-scale boilers but steam engines are somewhat new to me.
Here are some similar helical screw-drive vehicles.
Any constructive advice is very much welcome.
Thanks,
Giovanni

Welcome to the board Giovanni,

Firstly if you made this post a week ago I would have suggested getting some snow. I think we have plenty of that now up here in N.Cal.

The way you route your plumbing will be VERY important in sub-freezing conditions. Drains at every low spot.

Wesley,
Very nice steamboat!
Maybe some Propylene Glycol/distilled water mixture when the pressure finally gets up a bit?
Thanks,
Giovanni

Excellent Giovanni, welcome to the forum. Suggest two level gauges for those extreme tilts! How will you make those large archimedes screws?
John

Welcome Giovanni!

I so like this Forum - once again here is something I have never even heard of let alone seen in pictures (that is the archimedes screw vehicles - I have spotted the odd steamer  )

Regards

Pete
