Website might have been down for a short while. Has worked fine for me the past several days. Even five minutes ago. And I should know since I own it. International Steamboat Society & Steamboating Magazine:

I've got most of the pieces. I just needed the original Vol. I & II, but one of the subscribers to Steamboating Magazine has it in the original and will be sending a copy shortly.
I'm in the process of investigating OCR software to scan it all in and then some re-editing and formating. It will probably amount to about well over 800 pages. Will be available in hard copy, cd, or both. No cost "guesstimate" but probably under $ 200. Hopefully sometime next year.

Happy Birthday Ron - long may your funnel smoke! (to plagiarise on old Scottish saying)
The re-issue of the Steamboaters Handbook is good news. I will keep an eye open for that.
Wearing my SBA hat, can I just give a quick plug to the SBA Steamboating Guide (Second Edition) which is now available electronically and will alsobe available in hardback shortly? For details see the News section of the SBA website.
Finally can I fly a kite with you all? What about the idea of using a virtual learing environment to deliver a steamboating course that includes boatmanship and steam plant handling?
I have actually made a bit of a start on that idea. I suggested to the RYA that, if they allowed us to use their text for their inland waterways helmsman's certificate, I would code it up into HTML for them. We would use it with the steam plant bit added as training for their cert, and they would use it wherever. Sadly, all I got was a rasberry and the offer of a form to apply to become an approved traing centre for RYA courses. However, I still think it is a good idea. What do you folks think?
