looking to build a steam fire engine need help with a engine

http://hasbrouck.8m.com/eng5.htm. I'm possibly looking to make this engine work for my needs. Here is the problem though, it needs to be double in size and I need to widen the connector rod area to fit in a another one to run the pump underneath the engine. Reguardless this is a no castings steam boat engine. There is this engine as well http://hasbrouck.8m.com/eng10.htm. I'm also thinking this one would work but I'd need to build two of them. Would this be a good way to go or should I get a casting kit and make it work.
