Fred, Going to use Interlux Interprime 820 primer over 2mil sandblasted surface. I looked around the web, and everyone says that is the best thing to use. For the flat black I'm using a two-part Urethane called Hot Rod Flatz. I'm thinking it isn't going to be flat as I'm hoping. I'll find out this week. Not going to do any bottom color, not anticipating that anyway.
Building a Pearl handpump today, actually two of them, one for another steamboater I met here in Michigan.

All sandblasted and ready for primer which they said they would apply tonight.

Not too enthused about their rigging methods, oh well, it should be done Thursday, and then I should get it back and will be able to stop worrying about it.

Re: DetroiTug's Tug is going together
Long day... Went and picked the boat up from the sandblaster/painter. First pic is of them getting it out of their shop and readying it for the trailer.

We got it back and decided the black wasn't flat enough, and for some reason it was blotchy in some areas, probably temperature related, so we repainted the whole exterior. Some of the paint wasn't completely dry when I took this pic.

Then we shot what will be the engine space/cabin with gray.

This is how the inside looks now. Ready to start laying decks and do the rest of the woodwork.

Hi Bret,
Yes, it will be here soon. I'm trying for a ten week deadline. I'm laying decks already. Luckily I mocked up most of the running gear back in the winter, so that should go smoothly.
Your boat is looking good too.
Thanks for the compliment, Ron

The Tug is looking great , hope you make your deadline
. Oh and Den are you trailering your boat to a ferri to get off the Island ? If so I may need meds to counteract the overdose of irony brought on by that picture in my mind .
