After, it is installed right before the line attaches to the 1/2" pipe burner tube that enters the firebox.

A carter Mann built boiler is 2' mud drums, a 6' steam drum, 2' downcomers and I think maybe 40 copper tubes at 1/2", it had 1.2 sq feet of grate area and 12 sq ft of heating surface which pushed a 20 foot steam launch quite fine for 15 years I however would suggest you contact Carter Mann, Beckman Boatworks or someone else to build such a boiler for you based on the size of your vessel.
