Folks,
The duplex type of pump e.g. Worthington type will certainly pump using water instead of steam. I had the job many years ago of pumping out a flooded forward pump room on a tanker which some idiot had allowed to fill with about a twenty foot head of sea water.
The little Thomas Lamont bilge pump was of course at the bottom of all this but managed very slowly to empty the space, It was of course supplied with steam but after 500 feet of unlagged steam pipe along the deck and then going down through the flooded space, I dare say it was pretty well water at least at first. Admitted the pumps discharge head was not great.

Incidentally the steam launch Shamrock on Windermere has the steam supply to her two Penberthy injectors fed via a dip tube which stops at the high water level mark therefore you cannot overfill the boiler as they just stop working at this level.

Wow that looks so nice!

Just a thought: Would it be worthwile to make the roof a little wider so it protects the nice woodwork from rain? Perhaps add some suitably sized gutters.

How much living space do you have in the tug?

Yes, a little wider roof would have been better. That's working with no print, seemed like ample overhang when I was laying it out on the material.

It's spacious inside for a 22 footer. I had 6 people in the wheelhouse last year (11 people in total). Then there is quite a bit of room in the engine space as well. The final run last year there were 4 of us and we weren't crowded at all.

Getting the Windows installed in the wheelhouse. The two aftermost are fixed, the one in the center will hinge upward, and the two either side of center will hinge from the side to scoop the air in (hopefully)

What have you used for the "glass" Ron, just ordinary 1/4" plate; or toughened? That's quite a large expanse of window!

That is 3/16" Lexan or Polycarbonate. That's what mostly all boat windscreens and windows are made from. Yes, I'm concerned about towing it at high speeds and the air pressure; probably going to use some sort of air deflector. Someone locally mentioned take them out for towing, but that sort of defeats the whole purpose. I've been lucky as many times as I've had it out, it's never rained. I know the odds are running out on that
