My friend is always trying to convince me and I'm not sold. I begrudgingly use them. Either they slip or they mar.

For unions I prefer forged 3000# fittings. Better machining, fit and finish and usually cheaper then an extra heavy malleable. They also resist pipe wrench marks better.

You know there is a right way and a wrong way to use a pipe wrench for a hammer.
