I really think there should have been a movie made about that whole effort. I have been told that steam traction engines were used to haul the boats on sleds at one point. That's something I would like to see. Belching smoke and terrifying the locals.

The Götzen was "submerged" by the Germans with lot's of grease on the engine...

This only a trailer of the film but give some more impressions
