Ya, if it looks to good to be true it's probably to good to be true!

I bought one and YES, it was not true. It would not put out anything at 80# although it was touted as being 100# capable.

I had compressor that was advertised as 5hp, but when you looked at the running amps it was about 1hp. The starting load was close to five! I think there was legal action related to such claims. Some would advertise it as five peak HP, but a pig with lipstick is still a pig.

Tricks to live with it:

Don't be afraid of a used one. There are about a zillion of them around in use in coin operated car washes and in agricultural applications. Running at 1700 r.p.m.!!! They are easy to take apart and clean. No gaskets. Bart gave me mine as his had really high hours and he didn't have the time to rebuild it. The tool to get the valves out isn't that expensive or you can make your own from a hunk of tubing using a file. They pop out with two screwdrivers if you are careful. I have an extra set of valves in my tool kit.

Install it with the output facing up so any air can get pumped through. Put both a small metal mesh filter and a squeeze bulb in the input line. The bulb comes from an outboard motor gas can.

With my 3 x 4 single I run mine straight of the end of the crank and have plenty of extra capacity. Mine is the smallest model. #3620 I think. I use a flexible shaft coupler and have things arranged so I can get the beast out to fuss with it. The result? It never needs any attention. Years of running now with no attention except a shot of grease once a year. Zero noise.

wsmcycle already has it, he just needs to figure out what's going on with it to make it work more reliably when he's counting on it.

That injector troubles pamphlet is good to print out and keep stashed on your launch as a check list. When it's driving you nuts it will help you find the problem. The penberthy injector instructions says "Tack-up near injector for future use."

Still 2 sources that work and are easy to use are really needed and diversity is good. Someday I will probably get a hypro, but I have 3 sources for my first launch the Nyitra I - plenty more numbers after I to try different setups.

I depend on my injector. its my number one!! My back-up is the hand-job. This dissatisfaction came from thinking how nice it would be to flip a switch and see the sight glass rise. Of course, I would probably forget to turn it off till i flooded the boiler. I've made it for years with the injector. I sometimes forget that the purpose is beer.
