Three's a Crowd
Three's a Crowd
Weld-a-palooza! In addition to welding on my own boiler today (see thread and link above), Mr. Anderson and I fit up and tack out two Mike Condax-designed boilers for Mr. Anderson and Scott Lefever. A fine way to spend a Spring day! These will all be code boilers. I apologize for the quality of the photos - camera phone.

Here's some fire door detail on Mr. Anderson's boiler prior to tacking the door piece. One can see the firebox inside.

Thanks Steve, kind words. There is something primal about welding. No shots of the tube sheets, what size tubes, how many? Steamboat Mike

I'm sure it's the 'watching fire' thing.Steamboat Mike wrote: There is something primal about welding.

Mike, your design has 90, one-inch tubes. I forget the length - but they would be the same length as yours.Steamboat Mike wrote:Thanks Steve, kind words. There is something primal about welding. No shots of the tube sheets, what size tubes, how many?
The scotch has 50, 1.5" tubes, 24" long.

Welding, welding, welding, that seems to be the thing this spring in PA. Is that welding table in your pictures made from a piece of plate?? Bet that is not too easy to move around, unless you have an overhead gantry crane.

Yeah, Fred, it's no Acorn. The ten-ton overheads shift it around for us ...fredrosse wrote:Welding, welding, welding, that seems to be the thing this spring in PA.
