I've been meaning to have a look around for sometime after several years of using the old SBA bulletin board.
My name is Daniel Hutchinson and our boat is steam narrowboat Emilyanne which is owned within the family having been put together by my grandad Tom Mason. She has a two cylinder leak compound (4.5+7.5*4) with a langley engineering vertical fire tube boiler. Tom still boats on the boat with both family and friends when Im not boating on her myself with my own friends.
My knowledge of steam engines is somewhat narrow (no pun intened) in so much as it being largely based on my experience of using our boat, as well as a passing interest in steam locomotives and stationary engines, so i'm always looking for information and guidance on undertaking work to both make improvements to the plant and to keep it running and to maintained and will im sure be asking questions as well and offering advice where i can.
I have also developed a strong interested in the canal boating side of things having made freinds with a canal enthuast while studying at university, so also boat on a range of historic narrowboats.
Daniel

Re: Hello all!
Welcome Daniel!
You will meet lots of familiar faces (with unfamiliar tags) not to mention lots of other nice folk who are an ocean or continent away. Enjoy!
Regards
Pete
