WANTED: DECK FILLER ASSY - SCOTLAND

Post by Old Steamer » Fri Apr 06, 2018 12:51 pm

WANTED
The attached photos show a fuel tank deck flange and filler cap as originally fitted to the 'Nell' Class steam launches. Davey & Co who supplied these to Bossom's Boatyard in Oxford, have long since deleted them from their range and I cannot find an equivalent on the market. Thus, I am hoping that somebody may still have one, or something very similar, skulking in some half-forgotten place and is ready to do a deal.

The Davey Part No. was 2434, the flange is 3.25" diam. and it has an internal 1.5" BSP thread.

Is your original lost or damaged?

I have the original but the cap/flange mating threads are worn to the extent that cross-threading is the usual result of operation. I can get a flush deck filler that will do the job but, if I can find an original or something very similar, that's my preferred route.

If you can draw and dimension it, I can make a new set for you if you like.

Alternately, send the cap and flange to me and I will make new parts as per the samples.

Cheers

If you watch Ebay, those show up often as early Chriscraft fuel caps, some have the word "Fuel" cast in to them, some don't.
