I have followed Don Ashton (and others), but mainly Don because he seems to deep dive into valvegear subjects to a greater extent than many/most.

I made this graph in Excel for a Stanley 20hp, but unfortunately I am not far enough along in valvegear understanding to program in the Stephenson's link.
I can't verify that the labels are correct, but they are my understanding of the various points.

I am getting there, but am definitely not there ...

Bill Hall has both Stephenson's and Walschert's valve gear programs.

And Alan Wallace has a Stephenson's program (or maybe just a Walschert's program).

I am not sure how to attach stuff here, or what format is accepted, but I have these items.

I got pretty involved in studying valve gear design a few years ago.

I ran across Docksteder's programs, and was impressed with what he had done.
I emailed him, and convinced him that he should really share the source code for those programs while he was still able to do so.

I have been searching the net for rocking valve info, and while plenty can be found regarding the Corliss engines, I have been unable to find anything of significance with a rocking valve engine that is not in a Corliss configuration.

One of the only engines I can recall ...

Can someone explain the rocking valves on the Alva B single cylinder tug engine.

Appears to be two valves, and multiple eccentrics.

I got a notice today that the last part of the multi-part green twin magazine article series was on its way in the mail.
