UK source of firebricks/vermiculite panels for boiler ?
I’ve been looking at the various options of vermiculite panels available over the web, but before I buy is there any particular sort I should be looking at.
I’d prefer to buy a panel and then cut to size as I need some off cuts to make a small brazing hearth.
I was looking at 25mm thickness.
TIA
Ian

I would definitely check Black Gates Engineering. A model steam (Keith Appleton) youtuber is always picking up all sorts of great stuff from them.
I'm sure if you call or go in person and tell them what you are doing they can recommend something they have in stock.
Their website references Boiler insulation - but they don't say on the website exactly what they have.

Speak to a kiln manufacturer, they have it chapter and verse, and know who supplies what, from where, and how much.

Based in Bristol, I see. they seem to have a good range of stuff suitable for building boilers. Should they be added to the SBA website as a known supplier?gallanach wrote:Malcolm Duckett sourced the insulation material for his boiler from https://shop.vitcas.com/

Victas are on the SBA directory of suppliers and have been for some time.
