You know you have a great spouse when....

A special section just for steam engines and boilers, as without these you may as well fit a sail.

You know you have a great spouse when....

Post by marinesteam »

You know you have a great spouse when you get this kind of present for Christmas. It took me a while to get theses posted with work commitments and then having to figure out how to have pics hosted.

I have some other goodies that I received for my b-day and I'll post as soon as I get the pics uploaded.

Sounds like she is a "Keeper". Glad you have such a woman on your side. Some wives only tolerate steam, but one that actually buys you machinery, very good!

What a great gift! Out of interest, are the hex. head bolts in the pic bronze or brass?

They are listed in the BOM as being phosphor bronze.

That's good, it was difficult to tell from the photo. Bronze is fine- watch out for rounding off the heads after a few replacements of the gasket- this should be a bi-annual event at least- usually the gaskets are fine, but it is good to check the condition of the glasses. On Gondola we have steel Alan bolts in the frames and they can put up with being dismantled and re-fitted far better.

Here is the other goody that I received for my b-day. It's the King hand pump from Elliott Bay (comes with a bit of hardware as well but not shown)

I have plenty to keep me busy.
