I believe the steam umpire launch "Consuta" is a very very early example of stitch and glue.

The price point of epoxy-ply is extremely tempting... the lack of required mantinance and relative light weight of aluminium is also very tempting... I already have one epoxy-ply boat, problem is i don't have the cubic dollars to do everything I want. Out to buy another lottery ticket!

"Stitch and Glue is what I was talking about."

Oh, now I see that you mentioned that. :D

I always wondered what winters were for, and that's clearly part of it!

I am such a wimp that I now spend my winters in Baja but my shop and resources are in Washington State. So for now I will take the easy way out and nurse along the wretched hull I have now. The naive people I take for rides don't know enough to be condescending and the enthusiasts are kind about it.

Some day a launch hull will drift up in front of my house.
