Rijeka Crotia Intermodal Steam Transport 1868? Astro-Hungary

I bought a book in Budapest this Fall about trains, especially steam. "Egyszer Volt Egy Vasut: Kepes Historia I" - "Once there was a Train: A Photographic History".

It has this really neat photo...

Rijeka Crotia (At the time in the Austro-Hungarian Empire)Intermodal Steam Transport 1868?

The question mark is because the caption says that Fiume or Rijeka adopted the governments plan to make a station along the banks of the Adriatic Sea in Fiume in 1868. I don't know exactly when the photo was taken.

I like the sail technology mixing with the steam technology. There looks to be a steam crane on the steamboat in the foreground - I'd guess some kind of tug or cargo loader. And of course the freight train and steam locomotive pulling up to pickup all the cargo in barrels. Not sure what's in them...
