Hello from Ohio
Re: Hello from Ohio
I drew up the frames for the boat. I added the engine to the assembly to get a better indication of the size. Not a very good picture though.

Sorry about the huge pictures, I resized them but the change must be delayed.
Re: Hello from Ohio
I have not made much progress since my last post. But two days ago, I cut out two more piston patterns for the steam engine. I had a pattern job come up and I already had the stock made, so it was a no brainer. I also posted pictures of my progress on the hull. I added the keel, and used the surface tools to loft it all together.

Re: Hello from Ohio
Good evening Dano,
Your hull design is a typical torpedo boat stern (from the end of the XIXth century). Your first post indicates it's based on Reciproca's design, which is lovely. Keep on the good job.

Since your able to change things easily in CAD, you might consider going for a piston valve on your high pressure cylinder. Much less friction loss and easier on the valve gear. Changing to inside admission on that valve is a very good idea too.
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.

Thanks for the suggestion Mike. I will try to make the change.
