Persistent Login - Not working

Post by Dhutch » Thu Dec 10, 2015 1:12 am

Slightly minor issue, but keeps coming up.

Even if you tick the 'remember me' keep me logged in button, I have to login every time I close all the tabs and then want to use the site again.

Does anyone else get this?

Thanks

That may be your computer not allowing cookies from this site. Not all cookies are bad.

If other members report no issue I will look into it as anything can happen, but I have no real adversion to cookies, and no issue with other sites.

It that you reporting it works fine for you?

Yes, it keeps me logged in here at work, but at home, no. Haven't looked in to why, I'm assuming it has something to do with browser permissions - cookie acceptance. I think when I built the one at home, I set it to not retain anything from websites as it has a smaller hard drive. This one has a 2.5 Terabyte, so it doesn't matter. I had an old 80 GB WD drive crash and I lost everything on it. Learned my lesson, more than needed storage on multiple drives each backed up to the other is the way to go. Many of my early Steamboat build pics etc were lost.
