Howdy,
My name is Wesley Harcourt, I am located in South Lake Tahoe, California.
I have been around steam my entire life (a short 23 years at this point).
I grew up and cut my teeth on my father's steamboat, the 21ft S.L. George H. Sandin. She has a Scripps compound engine and a oil fired Semple VFT40 boiler.
My personal steamboat is the 22ft S.L. Wayward Belle built by Charles Grosjean. She has a compound and a kerosene (vaporizing burner) fired monotube steam generator with all pressure and heat activated automatic controls(NO ELECTRONICS) ALL designed and built by Mr. Grosjean.
Currently, my father and I (mainly my father) are building our "dream boat" from a 40ft steel tugboat hull. We currently have a Kiwani 3-pass Scotch boiler. We have a French compound built in 1924 measuring 6"&10"x7" OR a Canadian Doty Compound in about the same measurements. We are still up in the air about which engine to use, but we are leaning towards the Canadian engine.
That's all for now
I will post pictures at a later date.

Wes,
Welcome to the list.
I'm nearly twice your age but only have been around actual steamboats for the total of a few hours. I have a love for steam power (esp. locomotives) and the water. Steamboats seem like a perfect way to pursue both.
You definitely have a leg up in experience and I for one welcome any input that you can offer as well as any vicarious enjoyment that I can get from any pics your willing to share.
Welcome.
Ken

Thanks
The "workshop" is the garage at my parent's house, which has never housed a car. It is okay, when it isn't full of stuff. Right now there's no real room for moving around.
