Hi. It is Not steam powered but coal fierd. It is my 1935 Studebaker which I have mounted a WW2 coalgas gennerator/gasifier on. it loses some hp on coal gas but it works. A coal gasifier works as a Wood gasifier but can be built smaller and with shorter startup time. They were poppular during the war and think it's an exciting experiment it was to get it to work.
and the color match well with the car also. looks as it always been there :)
and please excuse the mess. I'll clean up when i found some time :D

That's awesome Johan!

I've seen videos of gasifiers and have always wanted to do it as I have an unlimited supply of wood chips!

How long does it take to start up?

the start time is around 4-5 minutes. sometimes its easy but often I have to give the Starter a extra boost with 12 volts to help suck the gas in.
but when gasifier has got up the heat. it keeps the coals glowing for hours after you turned off the engine, and you can start almost immediately .
