Mike, what a beautiful job!

What did you set the clearances to on the bearing surfaces?

Thanks! We put back all the shims as removed, giving,if I recall correctly, around 5 thou on mains and rods.We were very lucky with the dozens of pins and bushings of the valve linkage;it is all as built no lost motion. The center main has been turned down during the last century, the bearing itself resized. The bearings are huge, all bronze. All in all it turned out nicely, the engine being in good shape, and ,equally important,COMPLETE! It will look really nice in a thirty-ish foot boat, but I have too much on my plate right now. Mike

Really looks good cleaned up and back together. I was interested in it, but I have too many projects going now.
