Hadden Uniflow casting set for sale

Post by DetroiTug » Sun Jan 03, 2016 3:02 pm

I've posted some steamwares on Ebay. Cleaning out some in my shop, took on another steam car project, running out of room.

If any steamfolk over the big river want this casting kit, I will ship it, no problem. Shipping to Europe is around 300 USD.

Out of curiosity, what hp and rpm is an engine like that rated for?

That's a really nice O&S too, but I've got enough irons in the fire myself.

Frank,

I would say 8-10 horsepower at 150 psi. A Uniflow is very efficient with the steam. I took that set in on trade, I'm good friends with Gary Hadden. I just have too much going on to ever get to it. I just started on an original 1900 Conrad steamcar restoration. It's 116 years old and it was in a fire - big job. Then when that is done later this year I'm looking at doing a steambike or possibly a replica board track racer.

Yes the O&S is a really good old engine. I've been hanging on to it just in case this government ever accomplishes anything, I'll need it to create my own electricity.

Thanks, Ron

Well, Ron, I've put in a bid on your castings. It looks like a really neat little engine.

Cheers,
Scott
