Milling machine on ebay - Alton UK; also looking to buy one

Post by malcolmd » Wed Feb 04, 2015 7:40 pm

I am looking to buy a Bridgeport Series 1
I would like power x feed and DRO on it... Belt change model would be fine.
I am based in Alton in Hampshire (UK)
Budget is a bit flexible, but £2500 inc transport.
If you know of a machine please let me know....

ALSO I AM Selling my old machine on ebay

It's an Adcock and Shipley 1AD, with a Bridgeport J-type head fitted by me... All working, just too small for Boiler I am building!

See it on ebay here http://r.ebay.com/GYgFTZ, with lots of pics and description, but I can answer any questions you might have...

thanks

Malcolm

Hope the new machine is in and working!

- My first house had a requirement for a large garage and hence covered work area, but I settled for a fairly basic steel clad garage.
- I think the second house may have to have the requirement of a large garage that is dry/secure enough to have such machinery in it.

In the end I could not find a Bridgeport for the money I had - but actually this turned out very well, I found a Rambaudi V3. Its an Italian turret mill of somewhat heavier design than the Bridgeport, and I am VERY happy with it... the only downside is that we have decided to move to Cumbria, so now I need a wagon with a 2Tonne Pallfinger to move it!!

See http://sy-befur.co.uk/2015/02/21/a-bit-of-an-upgrade/ for pics...
